Husqvarna recently launched the new-generation 2024 Vitpilen 250 in India, alongside the Svartpilen 401. The Swedish café racer has been completely revamped for 2024 and features an updated design, new power plant and a redesigned chassis. Let’s take a closer look at the motorcycle via this image gallery.
The Vitpilen 250 is a modern take on a neo-retro café racer based on the KTM 250 Duke platform. The motorcycle has grown in size and that is quite apparent from its proportions. For 2024, it gets new bodywork and revised ergonomics. While the overall styling is very radical and modern, the round LED headlamp adds a retro appeal to its design.
Instead of the clip-on handlebars on the previous model, the 2024 Vitpilen 250 features a flatter, single-piece, tubular unit that offers an aggressive yet slightly relaxed riding position.
The motorcycle gets a rectangular five-inch TFT LCD dash, in place of the round LCD unit on the older model. The cluster displays a plethora of rider information in a neat layout, which can be accessed from the left-side multi-function switchgear.
Powering the 2024 Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 is an all-new 249cc, single-cylinder, SOHC engine that also powers the new KTM 250 Duke. The liquid-cooled motor churns out 30.57bhp at 9,500rpm and 25Nm at 7,500rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch.
The Vitpilen 250 is underpinned by a new steel trellis frame, which is the same unit that underpins the 250 Duke. However, the sub-frame of the Husky has been altered to accommodate the short tail section.
The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are suspended on 43mm upside-down forks at the front and a rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS as standard.
With a seat height of 820mm, the saddle of the new Vitpilen 250 sits 15mm lower than the model it replaces. Couple that with the slim mid-section of the bike, putting your feet on the ground should be easier.
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 is priced at Rs 2.19 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs. 19,426 cheaper than the KTM 250 Duke.
