-Larger bike with a new chassis and suspension

- Gets traction control and a quickshifter as standard.
Husqvarna has launched the 2024 Vitpilen 250 in India at Rs. 2.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Vitpilen 250 is based on the new KTM 250 Duke and shares the same frame and suspension as well as the engine.
What’s unique to the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 is its unmistakable Swedish design and for 2024, the Vitpilen looks like an evolution of the previous bike. The round, LED headlight along with the LED DRL is characteristically Husqvarna and so is the almost flat-panelled tank cover that dominates, visually owing to its white colour. Then, the side and tail panels are fused as one which appears sleeker, unlike the split panels on the old Vitpilen.
Other notable design features that grab attention include the front fender, single-piece seat, copper-bronze finishing on the engine cases, as well as the fuel cap, fluorescent coloured stripe, and alloy wheels. In all, the bike looks attractive and unique while also being larger than the outgoing bike. In terms of features, it gets a new five-inch LCD, traction control, ride-by-wire, Quickshifter +, switchable ABS, and a Type-C charging port.
Powering the bike is a 249.07cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 30.57bhp at 9,500rpm and 25Nm at 7500rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
With the new bike, Husqvarna has managed to increase the ground clearance by 25mm to 177mm. There are significant improvements to the riding position as well, with the seat now being more accessible at 820mm versus the tall, 842mm seat height of the previous bike. The seat height of the pillion has also been reduced from 907mm to 877mm. Meanwhile, the seat length has increased by 100mm, making it roomier. Lastly, the fuel tank capacity has gone up from 9.5-litre to 13.5-litre and the kerb weight now stands at 163.8kg.
Under the pretty bodywork is a steel trellis frame that’s suspended by a 43mm USD fork by WP and a preload adjustable monoshock. The bike gets a 320mm disc at the front with sintered pads and a 240mm disc at the rear.
In terms of competition, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 goes up against the KTM 250 Duke.
