Husqvarna recently showcased the Vitpilen 250 at the 2019 India Bike Week. The motorcycle is due to be launched early next year. So before it arrives in markets, we tell you what to expect from the Vitpilen 250.
Styling
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 follows the design language of the bigger Vitpilen 401 which is sold in international markets. The ‘Vitpilen’ or ‘White Arrow’ is a modern-retro, cafe-racer styled motorcycle. It gets lowered, clip-on handlebars and slightly rear-set footpegs that offer an aggressive riding position. Furthermore, the Vitpilen sports minimal bodywork built on a tubular steel trellis frame.
Engine
The motorcycle shares most of its underpinnings with the KTM 250 Duke including the 248cc,single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This motor produces 29.6bhp and 24Nm of torque on the Husqvarna as well and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Cycle Parts
While the manufacturer hasn’t revealed the full specifications of the Vitpilen 250, we expect it to use the same cycle parts as its KTM counterpart. For suspension, the motorcycle uses inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile for braking the Vitpilen 250 is likely to employ a 300mm disc upfront and a 230mm disc at the rear along with dual-channel ABS.
Features
Along with ABS, the Vitpilen 250 boasts of full LED lighting for the headlamp, tail lamp as well as turn indicators. The motorcycle also sports a round instrument cluster that features a small LCD display placed in between the console.
Launch timeline and pricing
Husqvarna is expected to launch the motorcycle around February2020 along with the Svarpilen 250. It will be positioned above the KTM 250 Duke and is likely to be priced around Rs 2.2 lakhs (ex-showroom).
