Bajaj Auto has announced prices of the new Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 for the Indian market. The two motorcycles get a special introductory price of Rs 1.80 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The bookings are currently open.
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 made their debut at the India Bike Week, Goa on 6 December 2019. The motorcycles will be available at 100 KTM showrooms across 45 cities in the initial phase. The company will grow its footprint and will expand to almost 400 KTM showrooms across 275 towns over the next five months. The deliveries of the motorcycles will start from March 2020.
Both motorcycles use a 248.76cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke, DOHC, fuel-injected engine that produces 29.5bhp at 9,000rpm and 24Nm at 7,500rpm. The six-speed gearbox benefits from a slipper clutch function. Braking setup comprises a 320mm disc at the front and 230mm rotor at the back while the safety net includes dual-channel ABS. The shock absorption tasks are handled by WP-sourced upside-down forks at the front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the back.
The Svartpilen 250 features a rugged design, upright ergonomics and packs dual-purpose tyres. The Vitpilen 250, on the other hand, has a sportier design, clip-on handlebars and a forward lean riding position.
