- Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 unveiled in the international markets
- Based on the KTM 125 Duke
- India launch could happen this year
Husqvarna has taken the wraps off its newest entry-level motorcycle, the Svartpilen 125, in the international markets. And similar to other huskies, this too shares a lot of hardware with its same-sized KTM counterpart, the 125 Duke.
The styling of the Svartpilen 125 is majorly the same as the Svartpilen 250, which is available in India. However, one thing that sets it apart is the presence of spoke wheels, in place of alloys as in the 250s. Whereas, the round headlamp, distinctive fuel tank section, short tail, chopped fenders, and swingarm-mounted tyre hugger are the same. Features in the bike include LED lighting, a round LCD console, and Bosch ABS system.
The hardware package, meanwhile, is quite premium for a 125cc bike which is the same as the KTM 125 Duke. It is based on a steel trellis frame and rides on 17-inch spoke wheels with Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres. Dampers include WP 43mm upside-down forks and a WP monoshock while braking is handled by ByBre callipers at both ends.
Powering the Svartpilen 125 is the same 125cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder motor which is seen in the 125 Duke. It produces 15bhp of power and 12Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Husqvarna will soon launch the Svartpilen 125 in some international markets while we also expect it to come to the Indian market sometime this year.
