Ather Energy has commenced deliveries of the Ather 450 in Chennai and will be delivering around 100 scooters in the next week.
The company is also providing its home charging system called the Ather Dot with each scooter. Moreover, owners can charge the Ather 450 at the ten fast charging ports that are currently available across the city. Ather is offering free charging at the various ports till December 2019 to build its brand value while also reducing range anxiety which is the major issue related to EVs in India.
While the pre-orders till December are full, Ather Energy is accepting bookings for batch 3 of the scooter which is to be delivered between February and March 2020. As for the Ather 450, the scooter is feature-loaded to the brim. It comes powered by a powerful motor that produces 20.5Nm of torque and propels the scooter to a top speed of 80kmph making it the fastest electric scooter currently available in the country. And on a full-charge, Ather claims that the 450 offers a range of 75kms. In terms of competition, the Ather 450 locks horns with the Bajaj Urbanite Chetak which will go on sale by January 2020.
