Ather Energy launched the Ather 450 electric scooter in India with a price tag of Rs 1.24 lakhs (on-road). In a similar budget you could have seven petrol-powered motorcycles to choose from. We list out what else you can buy at the price of the Ather 450.
You could have the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 priced at Rs 1.28 lakhs. The bike gets classic styling and oodles of chrome to boost its appeal. Powering the bike is a 346cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 19.8bhp and 28Nm of torque. Yamaha offers the FZ25 at Rs 1.33 lakhs. The street fighter uses a 249cc, single-cylinder engine that puts out 20.3bhp and 20Nm of torque.
Also on offer is the Yamaha Fazer 25. The fully-faired motorcycle is based on the FZ25 and shares the 249cc engine with the latter. It is priced at Rs 1.44 lakhs. In a similar body style, there is the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 with a price tag of Rs 1.38 lakhs. The bike is powered by a 199cc, single-cylinder motor that produces 24.5bhp and 18.6Nm of torque.
Yamaha also offers three motorcycles with a similar name, although with different characteristics. There is the YZF-R15 V2.0 at Rs 1.32 lakhs. The bike is fully-faired and offers a sporty riding position thanks to the lower-set handlebars. It also gets a raised rear section with a split seat. The YZF-R15 S, on the other hand gets a single-piece seat for pillion comfort. It is priced at Rs 1.29 lakhs. Both bikes are powered by a 150cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 16.7bhp and 15Nm of torque.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0, is completely different from the other two version in terms of technology and performance. The bike is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.7bhp and 15Nm of torque. You could lay your hands on the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 for Rs 1.40 lakhs.
