Ather is scheduled to launch the 450X in India on 28 January and be positioned above the Ather 450.
The company also recently released a teaser video revealing that the 450X will come with new features that will set it apart from the scooter it is based on. And while the 450 is only available in white, the 450X could offer a slew of colour options and be adorned with graphics for a sporty appeal.
Ather has remained tight lipped when it comes to the details of the Ather 450X. However we can expect it to offer better specifications as compared to the 450. The Ather 450 gets a 2.4kWh lithium-ion battery with a BLDC motor that produces 5.4kW of power (3.3kW of continuous power) and 20.5Nm of torque. It offers a range of 75km on a single-full charge and a top-speed on 80kmph.
The Ather 450X will be introduced in 8 cities across India- Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi and Bangalore. Bookings for the scooter have commenced through invite codes sent to existing Ather customers. Deliveries could take place a couple of weeks after its launch. In terms of pricing, it will evidently cost a premium over the Ather 450 which costs Rs 1.06 lakhs (ex-showroom).
