Ather Energy has initiated a new exchange program for existing scooter owners to upgrade their older models to the 450X and the 450 Apex. However, this is only available in Bengaluru for select customers who signed up for the Ather Upgrade program in January 2023.
Moreover, the Ather Upgrade program is valid till 31 March and Ather 450 Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 owners upgrading to the 450X need to complete their purchase, invoicing, and registration formalities by 31 March, 2024. Meanwhile, the ones choosing the 450 Apex can do the same till 30 April. That said, the process is supposed to be completed on the same day as that of their old scooter handover.
Another catch here is owners have to hand over their scooter at Ather Space Experience Center, Indiranagar, in Bengaluru only. The scooter will be evaluated by trained personnel to check if it’s in running condition or not. Additionally, Ather will also conduct checks to ensure that the scooter does not have any pending traffic violation fines or challans. Based on these checks, Ather Energy reserves the final decision on determining whether your scooter is eligible for the Ather Upgrade program.
Moreover, even customers who have purchased a pre-owned Ather 450 can avail of the Ather Upgrade program, provided they signed up for it in January last year.
For reference, if the scooter is more than 36 months old, here is how much you are likely to pay for the various new Ather 450 scooters – Rs. 1.10 lakh for the Apex 450, Rs. 90,000 for the 450X 3.7kWh with the Pro Pack, and Rs. 80,000 for the 450X 2.9kWh with the Pro Pack. However, we are yet to know the return rate of scooters that are less than 36 months old.
