Ather Energy, the maker of 340 and 450 electric scooters have launched a new charging solution which goes by the name Dot.
This new feature has been launched after the Bengaluru-based company analysed their customer’s charging behavior. So it was discovered that majority of the charging took place at customer’s home overnight or during the day at their workplace. So Ather decided to take the charger off-board that just didn’t improve weight distribution but also improves the overall dynamics.
With the Ather Dot, the overnight charging time changes to four hours and 30 mins for upto 80 percent while zero to 100 per cent will now take five hours and 15 mins. The company believes that the slight spike in the charging time will not affect the charging behavior.
It costs around Rs 1800 to install Ather Dot. An installation manual will also be provided to the owners so that it can be installed by local electricians. The Ather Dot will be delivered to the Chennai customers will their new Ather 450, whereas all Bengaluru customers getting their vehicles after October will get it with the new charging solution.
