Ather Energy has decided to increase the warranty of its 450 electric scooters to three years from the current two years. This new offer is applicable to new 450 buyers as well as to the scooters that are already on the road.
Just a few days ago, the Ather 450 was approved under FAME-II due to which the price was reduced by Rs 5000. As a result, the 450 has an on road price of Rs 1.23 lakhs. The company had halted the deliveries of the 450 scooters as it intended to lend the subsidy benefits to the buyers. So we are expecting the official deliveries of the second lot will begin in the next few days.
The Ather 450 is equipped with brushless DC motor which produces 20.5Nm of torque and it can reach a top speed of 80kmph. The electric scooter is claimed to deliver a range of 75km on a full charge. It also comes loaded with features such as LED headlamps and tail lamps along with a seven-inch touchscreen instrument cluster with navigation.
The Bengaluru-based company will start its Chennai operations in the next few weeks, followed by Pune by the end of the current year. It plans to first install charging stations across the country before opening bookings for its scooters.
