- Already launched two new e-scooters this month, 340 and 350
- New scooters in pipeline will be positioned below 340, 450 e-scooters
Ather Energy recently launched two scooters, the 340 and the 450 earlier this month. These e-scooters are already touted to be game changers in their own right. But now it looks like the company might up the ante further by introducing more scooters in the future.
The Bengaluru-based company wants to increase the number of products in its portfolio in the years to come. While the recently launched scooters are priced at the expensive end, Ather has plans to introduce two more e-scooters in the market by 2021 that will cater to a wider consumer base. So the upcoming ones may be priced competitively. In order to achieve that, the company may develop a cheaper platform unlike the one on which the 340 and 450 were built.
Ather plans to expand its sales reach to Pune and Chennai by the end of 2018. But before it starts selling its e-scooters there, it will first build the Ather Grid charging infrastructure. Ather´s big plan is to set up 6500 charging points by 2022.
