Royal Enfield has started the BS6 transition, and the two-wheeler brand has already announced the launch of the updated Classic 350 and the Himalayan. Royal Enfield has also listed the prices of the BS6 compliantInterceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 on its website, although the company is yet to announce their launch details and technical specifications. While we await an announcement, leaked documents have revealed the power output figures and the dimensions of the BS6 Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650.
According to the leaked document, the BS6 Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 will produce 46.8bhp of maximum power at 7,150rpm. In comparison, the BS4 models were tuned to deliver a marginally higher power output of 47bhp at 7,250rpm. The engine will continue to use a six-speed gearbox.
The leaked document also lists the dimensions of the Continental GT 650. According to the data, the BS6 Continental GT will be 2,119mm long, 745mm wide and 1,067mm tall. In comparison, the BS4 Continental GT 650 was 2,122mm long, 744mm wide and 1,024mm tall.
The updated Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 have started to reach the dealerships and it should not be long before we hear a launch announcement from the two-wheeler brand. The changes will be limited to engine upgrades while the styling cues and the feature list will be carried forward from the BS4 motorcycles.
