Husqvarna has unveiled the production version of its street bike, the Svartpilen 701, at the EICMA 2018. The motorcycle was first unveiled at the EICMA 2017 in the concept avatar and now, the company has showcased the production model.
The design of the motorcycle takes inspiration from the classic flat-track racers with upright stance, single unit handlebar, flat seat and stretched fuel tank. The headlamp and tail lamp are LED units and the instrument cluster is a single pod digital display.
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 is powered by a 692.7cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is mated to a six-speed gearbox and gets slipper clutch. This motor generates 74bhp of power and 72Nm of torque at 6750rpm. It also incorporates ride-by-wire throttle and traction control.
As for the braking, the Svartpilen 701 comes equipped with 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc with hydraulic Brembo calipers. Suspension setup consists of WP-sourced 43mm USD front forks and rear monoshock, both of which are fully-adjustable. The motorcycle runs on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels shod with Pirelli MT60 RS tyres.
Husqvarna will launch its motorcycles in India next year and the first bikes to come will be the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401.
