- Likely to be launched in January 2024
- Could be powered by a 399cc, liquid-cooled engine
- Will feature LED illumination, dual-channel ABS, and more
According to our dealer sources, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is set to be launched in India very soon. The brand is planning to bring the bike here in January and the unofficial bookings, too, have begun with a token amount of Rs. 5,000. As of now, there is no word regarding the pricing but we expect Husqvarna to price it between Rs. 2.65 - 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 was spotted testing previously, too. It is a scrambler and boasts an off-road-ready build. The test mule revealed the design details, which included a round LED headlight topped by a small visor, muscular fuel tank with horizontal extensions, and a single-piece seat as well.
Similar to the new KTM 390 Duke, the Swedish scrambler, too, could be powered by a 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It will be linked to a six-speed gearbox and the power figures are likely to be around 45bhp and 39Nm. Then, its features list could include full LED illumination and an LCD with readouts such as a speedometer, trip meter, odometer, tachometer, and more.
While the Svartpilen 401 was previously spotted with spoke wheels, the brand could also launch the bike with alloy wheels in India. This will aid the brand in mitigating the production cost, thereby keeping the asking price in check. However, Bajaj introduced the KTM 390 Adventure with spoke wheels quite a few years after the bike’s launch and could change its approach with the new Husqvarna offering. The Svartpilen 401 will ride on USD front forks and an offset monoshock. It will also get a disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS. Not to mention, owing to its off-road purpose, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 will get block pattern tyres.
Once launched, it will rival the Yezdi Scrambler, Triumph Scrambler 400 X, and the Royal Enfield Scram 411.
