- Currently operates in Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Delhi
- Pre-bookings open in eight new cities
Hero MotoCorp plans to expand the availability of its electric scooter brand, Vida, in 100 cities within the calendar year of 2023. The Indian two-wheeler maker plans to use its existing dealer network in the country to scale up the Vida electric scooter operations across India.
As reported earlier, the company has already commenced the expansion plan with eight new cities – Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Hyderabad, Chennai, Calicut, and Kochi. The pre-bookings of the Vida V1 range in these eight new cities have commenced already and deliveries will start soon. The electric scooter brand is already present in Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Delhi.
The company further added in its press statement that this expansion plan will be supported through the new pricing for the Vida V1 range. All new bookings and subsequent sales to customers will be made under this new pricing. The base model of the Vida V1 series, the Vida V1 Plus, will now be available at Rs. 1,19,900, while the Pro variant will be sold at Rs. 1,39,900 (ex-showroom prices pan-India, including portable charger and FAME II subsidy). Notably, the prices will vary across the country based on respective state subsidies. Hero MotoCorp says that these prices will make the product more accessible and help accelerate the electric vehicle transition in the scooter category.
Apart from its expansion plans, Hero MotoCorp also announced that it has set up nearly 300 charging points across 50 locations in Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Delhi. These fast charging networks allow users to charge their scooter’s battery at 1.2km/minute.
