HeroVida recently launched the V1 electric scooter in India. It’s offered in two variants: V1 Plus and V1 Pro. The Vida V1 Pro retails at Rs 1,59,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is a quite steep asking price. So, you are left with quite a few other options in the same price range.
Kawasaki W175
The Kawasaki W175 is the latest crop from the Japanese bikemaker. It’s the smallest Kawasaki retro bike on sale in India with an asking price of Rs 1,47,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Powered by a 177cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, the W175 dishes out 12.8bhp and 13.8Nm. It gets a round headlight, telescopic front forks, twin rear springs, and a front disc/rear drum brake setup. Kawasaki offers the W175 in two variants: standard and special edition.
Yamaha FZ25
Another offering that you could opt for at a similar asking price is the Yamaha FZ25. It packs a 249cc single-cylinder engine that belts out 20.51bhp and 20.1Nm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The FZ25 is a reasonably popular commuter bike and features an LED headlight, a muscular fuel tank, and an overall comfortable riding stance. It retails at Rs 1,47,900 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is available in two colours: Metallic Black and Racing Blue.
Royal Enfield Bullet 350
The Bullet 350 is available at Rs 1,47,999 (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards. It is one of the highly popular models from Royal Enfield’s stable and has been on sale for a long time. Powered by a 346cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor, the Bullet 350’s output is rated at 19.1 bhp and 28 Nm. It’s mated to a five-speed gearbox. The Bullet 350 is an old-school retro offering with a round headlight, spoked wheels, a single-piece seat, and a wide fuel tank. It rides on telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks.
Honda CB200X
The Honda CB200X has also made it to the list of alternatives for the Hero Vida V1. It retails at Rs 1,48,572 (ex-showroom Delhi) and dons ADV-like bodywork. The CB200X gets sharp-looking body panels, LED illumination, and a fully digital instrument console. Honda has plonked a 184.4cc single-cylinder motor in the CB and it churns out 17 bhp and 16.1 Nm.
Bajaj Chetak
Lastly, the Bajaj Chetak is also a viable option if you only want an electric scooter. It costs Rs 1,51,958 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is Bajaj’s only EV on sale. It’s powered by a 4kW motor mated to a 3kWh IP67-rated lithium-ion battery. The Chetak’s top speed is limited to 69kmph and its tested range is 106km. The Bajaj EV also features Bluetooth compatibility and riding modes (sport and eco). It gets LED illumination and an overall premium fit and finish.
