- Honda crosses 11 lakh BS6 two-wheeler sales milestone
- Had launched its first BS6 product six months ahead of the deadline
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced that it has crossed the 11 lakh sales mark for its BS6 two-wheelers. The company has been ahead of most bike makers in the BS6 transition. It had launched its first BS6-compliant offering, the Activa 125 Fi, back in September 2019, six months ahead of the 1 April 2020 deadline.
Till date, Honda has added as many as 11 BS6 models in its portfolio which include four scooters - the Activa 6G, Dio, Activa 125 and the recently-launched Grazia 125. As for the motorcycles, there are seven of them including the CD 110 Dream and Livo in the entry-level commuter segment, Shine and SP 125 in the 125cc category, Unicorn and X-Blade in the 150-160cc class and the big-daddy ADV, the 2020 Africa Twin Adventure Sports.
Besides revising the engine in accordance with the new emissions norms, Honda has bestowed its BS6 two-wheelers (mass market products) with modern features such as a silent starter and engine start/stop switch. The next Honda product which is likely to get these updates is the CB Hornet 160R sporty commuter.
