The Husqvarna 701 Vitpilen is something we've known about since its debut at EICMA in 2015, and we have been expecting it. However, latest spy shots have revealed that a 701 Svartpilen is in the works as well.
Before we go any further, a refresher: 'Vitpilen' means 'White Arrow' and is a cafe racer. 'Svartpilen' means 'Dark Arrow' and will be a scrambler. There are already twins based on the 390 Duke platform that are nearing production, and they will be named '401' Svartpilen and Vitupilen.
The 701 Svartpilen will be based on the 690 Duke platform, so expect a lightweight wheelie monster that will look like nothing you've ever seen before. This should give the folks from Ducati some sleepless nights, as the Scrambler will be heavier and not as easy to ride off-road compared to the Husky.
We don't expect the 701 models to make it to India, but it is quite possible that the 401 models will be sold alongside the KTMs in Probiking showrooms in the Indian market, since they are based on the same platform.
