Husqvarna has finally made its debut in India and showcased the Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 at the 2019 India Bike Week.
Both motorcycle’s borrow styling from the bigger Husqvarna 401 siblings. The Vitpilen 250 is designed to resemble the look of old-school café racers. The motorcycle sports minimal bodywork, lowered clip-on handlebars and a round headlamp which lends it a retro appeal. On the other hand, the Svartpilen 250 is a scrambler-styled motorcycle with dual-sport tyres and an engine sump guard to complete its look.
Using a tubular steel trellis frame, the two bikes come powered by a 248cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that also does duty on the KTM 250 Duke. This motor produces 29.6bhp and 24Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Svartpilen 250 as well as the Vitpilen 250 ride on inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is likely to be the same as its KTM counterpart with a 300mm disc up front and 230mm rear disc with a dual-channel ABS.
Husqvarna is expected to launch the motorcycles sometime early next year and retail them through KTM showrooms across India.
