The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 was unveiled at the 2019 India Bike Week recently. Here we bring to you detailed photos of the motorcycle from the event.
The motorcycle shares most of its underpinnings with the KTM 250 Duke. However, it gets a styling that is inspired by retro scrambler-motorcycles.
To give it a retro appeal, the motorcycle features round mirrors and a round headlamp which comes fitted with full-LED lighting.
And staying true to the Husqvarna family styling, it gets a distinctively-styled fuel tank that features a ‘rack’ that lends the motorcycle a rugged look.
The Svartpilen 250 sports a flat, split-seat and a short tail that features an LED tail lamp along with LED turn indicators. Meanwhile, the number plate holder is integrated into the tyre hugger.
It offers a mildly bent-forward riding position courtesy the rear-set footpegs and the one-piece handlebar which features a brace to complement its scrambler character.
In terms of features, the Svartpilen 250 comes with dual-channel ABS and a round, LCD instrument cluster with tell-tale lights around it.
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is built on a tubular trellis frame that houses a 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This motor produces 29.6bhp and 24Nm and come mated to a six-speed gearbox.
It rides on dual-sport tyres that are suspended from WP-sourced inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is likely to be done by a 300mm front disc and a 230mm disc at the rear.
Husqvarna will be positioned as a premium brand and will evidently demand a premium pricing as compared to KTM. We expect the Svartpilen 250 to cost between Rs 2.2 lakhs to Rs 2.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
