- Bajaj hikes prices of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 in India
- Receive first price hike since their launch in February
- Select Husqvarna and KTM dealerships are now open
Bajaj Auto had launched the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 in February in India. Both bikes were introduced with a price tag of Rs 179,456. Now, following the resumption of the brand’s production and retail operations in select parts of India, the company has also increased the prices of both the Husqvarnas by Rs 4,736. The Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 now cost Rs 184,192 (all prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 share the same engine and underpinnings but boast of different styling. The former is a scrambled-styled offering with a tall, single-piece handlebar, metal cladding on the fuel tank and dual-purpose tyres. Meanwhile, the latter is a café racer with a clip-on handlebar and road-biased tyres. Both bikes incorporate full-LED lighting and a fully-digital LCD instrument cluster.
Powering the huskies is a 248.76cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine which churns out 29.2bhp of power and 24Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox assisted by slipper clutch. Based on a steel trellis frame, both bikes ride on 17-inch wheels which are suspended by upside down forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a disc brake at both ends accompanied by dual-channel ABS.
Husqvarna motorcycles are retailed by KTM dealerships which are now open in orange and green zones. Besides hiking the prices of the Huskies, Bajaj has also made all the KTMs substantially more expensive in India.
