- Bike was spied without any camouflage
- Gets flack tracker look; sports number-board at the rear
- Global unveil could happen at 2018 EICMA
Husqvarna has started testing their new middleweight motorcycle, the Svartpilen 701 in Europe. The spied motorcycle wasn’t wearing any camouflage and looked production ready.
The Svartpilen 701 also known as the Black Arrow is more like a urban endure motorcycle that gets a comfortable riding position. It sports a single-pod instrument cluster, flat handlebar, alloy wheel and dual-purpose tyres. Interestingly, the spied prototype had a bit of flat track look, making us believe that the folks at Husqvarna are closely watching the flat tracking space. The tail section of the bike has space to integrate a number.
In terms of power, the Svartpilen 701 will use the same motor as the Vitpilen 701, KTM’s 690cc single-cylinder 73bhp motor. Just like its Austrian siblings, expect the SVartpilen to get a host of performance and safety equipment like WP suspension, traction control system, ABS and quickshifter.
We’re expecting Husqvarna will take the 2018 EICMA to unveil the Svartpilen 701. Unfortunately, this bike won’t make it to India anytime soon, but its 401 siblings will be made in India, so it will definitely be sold in India.
