- Unveiled for global markets
- Based on the standard Svartpilen 701
- Gets cosmetic add-ons for a distinctive look
Husqvarna has unveiled a special-edition Svartpilen 701 for global market christened as the Svartpilen 701 'Style'.
The standard Svartpilen 701 is already a distinctive-looking motorcycle although the Style variant manages to set itself apart further. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 sports wire-spoke wheels in place of the alloy wheels that feature on the standard bike. It also gets a unique bronze-finished fuel tank along with a contrasting silver and black tail section. The Svartpilen 701 Style also comes with bar-end mirrors and CNC machined footpegs and aluminum tank badges that complete its neo-retro styling.
Apart from the cosmetic changes, the bike remains the same as the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701. It is powered by a 692.7cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 74bhp and 72Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. Husqvarna has added a ride-by-wire throttle and traction control system to the Svartpilen 701's electronic package. Braking is done by a 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc held on by Brembo calipers. Suspension duties are handled by fully-adjustable 43mm USD front forks and rear monoshock, sourced from WP.
Will the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 and Svartpilen 701 Style come to India? We expect it to, but not anytime soon. However, the manufacturer is likely to launch its entry-level offerings, the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 in the country by the end of this year.
