- The service interval has been extended to six months/6000 kms
- Oil change interval is extended to 12 months/10,000 kms
- Is applicable to Bullet, Classic and Thunderbird range
The Royal Enfield Bullet, Classic and Thunderbird range have now become more frugal to maintain as their service and oil change intervals have been extended. Earlier, these RE bikes were needed to be serviced every three months/3000 kms, however, with this new initiative by RE, this interval has been extended to six months/6000 kms, whichever comes earlier. What's more, the engine oil will also be needed to be changed after 12 months or 10,000kms, as opposed to the current interval of 6 months or 5000kms.
This extension of service and oil change interval is courtesy of the new processes and technology Royal Enfield is using for servicing the motorcycles. Moreover, a new type of semi-synthetic oil will also be used for the same. The manufacturer claims that the implementation of this process will bring down the ownership cost by 40 per cent over a period of three years.
Royal Enfield announced this new initiative at the launch of the more affordable variants of the Bullet 350 models. The new Bullet Silver, Sapphire Blue and Onyx Black colours of the Bullet 350 kickstart variant have been launched at Rs 1.12 lakhs and, are the cheapest offerings in the RE lineup now. Subsequently, the electric start variant of the Bullet 350 has received fresh paint schemes including Jet Black, Regal Red and Royal Blue which cost Rs 1.26 lakhs. Except for the new paint schemes and graphics, these models are mechanically the same as the ongoing models which will continue to be sold at the older pricing.
