Hero MotoCorp has entered the electric two-wheeler segment with its new brand, Vida. Apart from announcing this new brand, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer has also launched its first electric scooter, the V1 in our market. The new Vida V1 range will rival the likes of Chetak, TVS iQube, and Ola S1 in the Indian market. Here we list the top five highlights from the India launch of the new Hero Vida V1 electric scooter.
Hero Vida V1 Variants, Performance, and Battery Range
The new Hero Vida V1 will be available in two variants – Plus and Pro. The differences between the two variants are limited to battery capacity and acceleration.
In terms of performance, both scooters come with a claimed top speed of 80kmph and get four ride modes – Eco, Ride, Sport, and User Customisable. The 0-40kmph acceleration time for the Plus and the Pro variants stands at 3.4 seconds and 3.2 seconds, respectively.
Both variants use removable Li-ion based batteries with Nickel Manganese Cobalt chemistry. While the Pro variant comes with a 3.94kWh battery pack, the Plus version gets a 3.44kWh battery pack. With its relatively larger battery pack, the Pro version gets an IDC-certified range of 165km. The Plus version, on the other hand, gets a certified range of 143km. Meanwhile, the fast charging speed of the V1 is rated at 1.2km per minute.
Hero Vida V1 Styling and Colours
The new Hero Vida V1 Plus will be sold in three colours – Matte White, Matte Sports Red, and Gloss Black. Whereas, the Pro version, will be available in four paint options – Matte White, Matte Sports Red, Gloss Black, and the additional Matte Abrax Orange. The styling cues include an apron-mounted headlight with integrated position lamps, sleek LED turn indicators, a tinted flyscreen, a split-style seat design, and a dual-tone paint finish.
Hero Vida V1 Features
The feature list on the Vida V1 range comprises keyless control, full-LED lighting, seven-inch colour touchscreen display, Bluetooth, 4G, Wi-Fi, cruise control, limp home feature, anti-theft alarm, geofencing, two-way throttle for reverse and regenerative assist, SOS alert, and OTA updates.
Hero Vida V1 Price and Availability
The Vida V1 range has arrived at a premium price tag, and the Plus variant is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh. The Pro version is available at a premium of Rs 14,000 over the Plus version and it is listed at Rs 1.59 lakh. In the first phase, Hero MotoCorp will offer this new electric scooter in three cities – Bengaluru, Delhi, and Jaipur.
The bookings in the aforementioned three cities will commence on 10 October, 2022 and the deliveries are scheduled to start in the second week of December 2022. The company will expand the availability if the Vida V1 to other cities from December 2022. Further, Hero MotoCorp will offer the product via its experience centres, popup stores, and digital pods at existing dealerships.
Hero Vida V1 Test Ride and Finance Options
The company will provide long-term test rides of upto three days, low interest rates on loans, buyback assurance, roadside assistance, pickup and delivery services, and on-spot repair option. For loans, Hero MotoCorp claims that it will offer best-in-class interest rates that would be 1.5-2 per cent lower than the prevailing financial options in the market. Further, the company has also announced buyback assurance of the new Vida range at 70 per cent of the purchase value between 16-18 months of ownership.
