- New Husqvarna Svartpilen spied
- Could either be the 200 or 401
- Expected to be launched by end of this year
Husqvarna has been spotted testing a new Svartpilen in India recently. The test mule sports the same scrambler-like design elements that are unique to the Svartpilen model range.
However, it is unclear whether the test mule is a 200 or 401. Now, the Svartpilen 200 was revealed in 2019 sporting an underbelly exhaust similar to the KTM 200 Duke. Furthermore, the motorcycle was also riding on alloy wheels- something that neither of the Husqvarna 401 models are offered with internationally.
Nevertheless, fitting an exhaust canister wouldn’t necessarily translate to extra costs as it is already being made for the Husqvarna 250 models. It is also important to note that if the test mule is a 401, Husqvarna could offer the motorcycle with alloy wheels in India using economies of scale to its advantage. So, at this point, it is difficult to comment on the engine displacement of the test mule.
Husqvarna currently retails the Svartpilen and Vitpilen in India at Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom). We can expect the manufacturer to introduce a new Svartpilen and Vitpilen by the end of this year. And given their unique styling, the two motorcycles will not have any direct rivals in the country.
