The world knows that Husqvarna is developing a new genre of motorcycles under its Svartpilen and Vitpilen brands. In fact, one of them is getting close to production. A production ready Vitpilen 701 was snapped testing in Europe.
The Swedish manufacturer had unveiled the Vitpilen 701 as a café racer concept almost two years ago. But now with the pictures of its production-ready form made public, it makes us believe that the company will reveal this bike at the 2017 EICMA Show. Build around the lightweight steel trellis frame, the Vitpilen 701 gets is firepower from the 65bhp 690cc motor from Husqvarna’s 701 Enduro and 701 Supermoto. While details of the weight of this bike isn’t known yet, the usage of trellis frame and tight packaging will definitely add to the overall performance.
The prototype sports WP suspension, road tyres, matt finish fuel tank and also the exhaust. The tail section has been smartly packed. The production ready model will also have a pillion seat, but we’re expecting the Swedish manufacturer to offer customisable seats when it goes on sale officially.
Unfortunately, this bike will not be making its way to India anytime soon. Bajaj will be manufacturing the smaller versions of the Svartpilen and Vitpilen in India beginning from this year, and the Indian market will get those.
