- Based on Royal Enfield’s 650cc twins
- Gets full-fledged flat tracker bodywork
- Is unlikely to go into production anytime soon
Royal Enfield has unveiled a custom-built, flat track motorcycle which uses the underpinnings of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The motorcycle was showcased at the manufacturer’s technical centre in United Kingdom.
The motorcycle sports minimal, flat track inspired bodywork complete with custom handlebars and foot pegs. It uses a completely new frame and swingarm sourced from Harris Performance. And while the telescopic forks remain the same, Royal Enfield has updated the rear suspension with an Ohlins monoshock which replaces the twin shocks on the standard model. The motorcycle rides on bigger, 19-inch wheels that are wrapped in dual-sport rubber.
In terms of performance, the flat-tracker benefits from an S&S big bore kit which bumps up the displacement to 750cc. While the power figures have not been unveiled, the motor will surely be retuned and churn out more power. Moreover, it also comes with an upswept aftermarket exhaust that also completes its look.
While the Royal Enfield 650 flat tracker could be a concept, it is unlikely to go into production anytime soon. In other news, Royal Enfield also recently showcased the FT 411 flat-track motorcycle that is based on the brand’s adventure motorcycle; the Himalayan.
