- Chrome trim more expensive by Rs 4,681
- Standard and Custom variants costlier by Rs 2,845
Royal Enfield has increased the prices of its flagship motorcycles, the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, in India this month. While the top-end colour variants of both bikes are now Rs 4,681 more expensive, the hike for the other two trims isn’t as huge at Rs 2,845. The latest variant-wise ex-showroom prices of both bikes are mentioned below:
Interceptor 650
Standard: Rs 2,88,815
Custom: Rs 2,97,229
Chrome: Rs 3,14,682
Continental GT 650
Standard: Rs 3,05,624
Custom: Rs 3,14,038
Chrome: Rs 3,31,568
Apart from the change in their prices, the 650cc twins have remained the same. They continue to be powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine that produces 47bhp of power and 52Nm of peak torque. This unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox along with a slipper clutch. While the instrumentation and lighting setup are quite basic, there’s a dual-channel ABS as standard. Based on dual cradle chassis, both bikes ride on 18-inch spoke wheels with telescopic forks up front and dual springs at the back.
Those wanting to buy something more premium from Royal Enfield need to wait for a few months since the brand is prepping to launch multiple bikes like the Shotgun 650 and the Super Meteor based on the same 650cc platform.
