Royal Enfield has increased the prices of its flagship models, the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, in India. The difference between the old and new pricing is up to Rs 6,483 and it varies according to the variant of the bikes. The hike was implemented by dealers at the start of this month.
Starting with the Interceptor models, the Standard, Custom and Chrome now retail at Rs 2,56,372, Rs 2,64,029 and Rs 2,76,791 which is an increment of Rs 5,762, Rs 5,920 and Rs 6,182, respectively. On the other hand, the Continental GT 650 now costs Rs 2,71,673 Rs 2,79,329 and Rs 2,92,092 for the Standard, Custom and Chrome models, respectively. This is a hike of Rs 6,064, Rs 6,220 and Rs 6,483. (All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
This is the first time Royal Enfield has revised the prices of the 650 twins since the bikes were launched in November last year. While the dealers have already started quoting the new pricing, the manufacturer is yet to update its website. The price hike comes amidst the dwindling sales the Chennai-based bikemaker has been witnessing over the last few months. However, what’s worth noting is that the 650 twins have been fetching a decent sales with the numbers hovering around 2000 units each month. The downfall has been mainly due to the dropping sales of 350cc models in India.
