Royal Enfield has launched its newest twins, the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT in Europe this week. The launch was done at the 2018 EICMA Show in Italy.
The Interceptor 650 gets a price tag of 6200 Euros (Rs 5.16 lakhs) whereas the Continental GT is priced at 6400 Euros (Rs 5.33 lakhs). These prices are applicable to Italy, Spain and Portugal. For the rest of the Europe, these Royal Enfield twins retail at a much higher price. The modern-retro bike costs 6400 Euros (Rs 5.33 lakhs) whereas the café racer retails at 6600 Euros (Rs 5.50 lakhs). The deliveries are scheduled for early 2019.
The Chennai-based manufacturer will launch these twins for the Indian market next week. The prices are expected to be aggressive, and we believe the starting price for the Interceptor 650 will be below Rs 2.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The Continental GT is likely to be priced at least Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 more. Royal Enfield is looking to get decent volumes for these bikes, so it is bound to launch it with a competitive price.
According to our sources, mass production of these bikes have already begun at its plant in Tamil Nadu. It will start dispatching the bikes to its dealers soon after the prices are out.
