- Royal Enfield Sherpa 650 is the Interceptor 650scrambler
- Will get upside-down front forks
- Launch in 2024
Royal Enfield has been working on expanding its 650cc product portfolio in India. The latest addition is the Super Meteor 650, which has a launch this month. There’s another bike in the pipeline, which is likely to be called the Sherpa 650.
The Sherpa 650 name has been planned for the scrambler version of the Interceptor 650. The first spy shots of this bike were seen almost a year ago. However, these images couldn’t reveal much of the bike due to extreme camouflaging. But things have changed over the last few months, and the Sherpa 650 prototypes have managed to disclose a lot more.
The Sherpa 650 will get the chassis and the 650cc engine from the Interceptor. But the sub-frame will be different, along with the front suspension. The spy shots show that this scrambler will use an upside-down front and new dual springs at the back. It will also get a two-into-one exhaust system to help bring the overall weight down and enhance the overall aesthetics. Additionally, the bike will also sport a different seat and tail-light section, and to make it off-road ready, the Sherpa 650 will get dual-sport tyres.
The launch for this Royal Enfield Sherpa 650 has been planned for 2024, and it will sit between the Interceptor 650 and the soon-to-be-launched Super Meteor 650. In terms of competition, there won’t be any, as this bike will create a new segment.
