Royal Enfield has finally launched the 650 twins in India today. The Interceptor 650 is the more affordable of the two priced at Rs 2.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). In a similar budget, there are six motorcycles you can opt for; here’s the list-
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is a street bike and if you want something in a similar body style, there is the KTM 390 Duke at Rs 2.43 lakhs. It is powered by a 373cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 43bhp and 37Nm of torque. You could also have the BMW G310 R which is priced at Rs 3.09 lakhs. The bike uses a 313cc, single-cylinder motor that puts out 33bhp and 28Nm of torque. Cleveland CycleWerks also offers a similar bike in the form of the Ace. The motorcycle costs Rs 2.23 lakhs and is powered by a 229cc single-cylinder mill. This unit produces 15.4bhp and 16Nm of torque.
Now, on the other side of the spectrum, there are fully-faired motorcycles. There is the TVS Apache RR 310 retailing at Rs 2.23 lakhs. The bike uses a 312cc, single-cylinder mill that produces 33bhp and 28Nm of torque. You could also have the Kawasaki Ninja 300 that carries a price tag of Rs 2.98 lakhs. It is powered by a 296cc, parallel-twin engine that puts out 39bhp and 27Nm of torque. And finally from the full-faired category is the KTM RC390. The motorcycle uses a 373cc, single-cylinder motor that produces 43bhp and 37Nm of torque. It is priced at Rs 2.40 lakhs.
Apart from streetfighters and sporty fully-faired motorcycles, the Indian market also offers a cruiser in the price bracket of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650; the UM Renegade Classic. You can get your hands on the Renegade Classic for Rs 2 lakhs. The bike uses a 279cc, single-cylinder engine that puts out 25bhp and 23Nm of torque.
