- Gets Super Meteor 650-like LED headlamp
- Handlebar similar to the Interceptor 650
- Exact launch timeline not known yet
It’s a widely known fact now that Royal Enfield is working on multiple new 650cc offerings based on the same platform as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. One of the most interesting offerings among these is a 650cc scrambler which has recently been spied testing. Although it was sighted multiple times before, the new images reveal some fresh details.
The 650cc scrambler can be seen equipped with a round LED headlamp that looks identical to the unit on the newly-unveiled Super Meteor 650. Notably, the latter is the first RE offering to receive a full-LED headlamp. One can also spot an Interceptor-like braced handlebar but it should be easier to reach on the scrambler.
Other observations include upside-down forks up front, decently long travel for suspension at both ends, wire-spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres, a single-piece stepped seat, and a single stubby exhaust canister. The engine, meanwhile, is likely to be the same 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled motor that does duty on the existing 650cc twins. However, the tuning and exhaust sound might be slightly different.
The confirmed launch timeline of the Royal Enfield’s 650cc scrambler isn’t known yet but we expect it to make its official debut late next year or early 2024.
