- Interceptor, Continental GT specs leaked through service manual
- Launch in November
Royal Enfield’s most awaited motorcycle the Interceptor and the Continental GT will debut in India later this year. But it looks like the dealers are already prepping up for these two bikes.
A couple of images from a service manual have been leaked online. These images contains detailed specifications of both the bikes which are scheduled to launch in November this year. Other than the regular engine details, the spec sheet also reveals the electricals, chassis, brakes, tyres, transmission and fuel.
First showcased at the 2017 EICMA, the Interceptor is a modern retro styled motorcycle that could be positioned as a long distance relaxed cruiser. It is powered by a 648cc air-cooled fuel-injected parallel-twin engine that churns out 47bhp at 7100rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5200rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch function. This motor also powers the Continental GT 650 which is a café racer. So the riding position is slightly more demanding but has the styling to turn heads. Both the bikes are equipped with a conventional telescopic fork and gas-charged twin rear shock absorbers. The braking duties are taken care of by a 320mm single disc in the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard on both the bikes.
We will be riding both the bikes next month in California. In terms of pricing, we are expecting both the bikes to be priced between Rs 3 lakhs and Rs 3.3 lakhs (ex-showroom).
