- Features a two-in-one exhaust
- Equipped with spoked wheels and USD front forks
- Powered by a 648cc parallel-twin motor
Royal Enfield is set to expand its 650cc bike portfolio very soon. The Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650, and Classic 650 have already been spotted testing and now an Interceptor-based Scrambler test mule has also made an appearance overseas. Here’s what you should expect from the bike.
The newly spotted test mule sports quite a few elements we usually see on a Scrambler model. It rides on spoked wheels, gets non-adjustable twin rear shocks, is equipped with a two-in-one exhaust system, has a flat tracker style race plate on the right-side panel, and a bench seat too. The test bike is also suspended on USD front forks like the Super Meteor, Shotgun 650, and Classic 650. So, Royal Enfield is likely to offer some of its middleweight offerings with USD front forks as standard.
The Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 will be powered by a 648cc parallel twin motor. It’s the same mill that the current Interceptor and Continental GT 650 use with the output rated at 47bhp and 52Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The chassis is likely to be borrowed from the Interceptor and it seems the same case with the design as well. Royal Enfield could equip the bike with an LED headlight too. Its instrument console layout could also be the same as we see on the current bikes and the Tripper Navigation is to be offered as an accessory for an added premium.
In its upcoming line of bikes, Royal Enfield has the aforementioned models along with the new Himalayan 450 and the new generation Bullet 350. The latter is set to make its debut very soon.
