If you have already purchased the new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650/Continental GT 650 or are planning to buy one, chances are that you might be wanting an even louder exhaust note, or are probably worried about getting around thanks to the width of the end cans. Whichever it may be, you can now have the stock cans upgraded to louder and compact brushed stainless steel ones. Royal Enfield has partnered with Wisconsin-based S&S Cycle to provide slip-on high-flow mufflers exclusively through its authorised dealerships. But before you get too excited, there’s a catch. This offer is limited to only Royal Enfield North American market. However, if you are still keen on getting yourself a pair of the S&S Cycle exhausts, consider having them directly imported at a premium price due to import and duty charges.
Priced at 641.95 USD (Rs 44,620), these slip-on exhausts have been manufactured in the US by S&S Cycle. It features a brushed stainless steel look with a tapered cone design. It also packs a performance catalytic converter and tuneable baffles that are removable. Compared to the stock system, the S&S Cycle exhaust is 4.9kg lighter and can be easily installed.
Besides the exhaust system, S&S Cycle is individually also offering a slew of performance upgrades for the Royal Enfield twins in the North American market. The list consists of a high-flow air-filter which goes up to 865cc big-bore kits for the existing 650cc motor. For better understanding, the parts have been tabled along with its corresponding price in INR.
Considering that the Royal Enfield has designed the 650 twins for a global platform, the specs and configuration of the Indian and international models will be identical. That being said, existing owners and prospective buyers will have to import the parts directly from S&S Cycle. While small components like air-filter or Dynojet Power Commander can be hand-carried, bigger components like big-bore kits, exhausts and camshaft kits will most likely have to be cleared through customs, thus incurring additional costs for the customer.
