- EBITDA and profit before tax rose by 7 per cent and

- Royal Enfield will be launching its highly anticipated 650cc twins on 14 November

Royal Enfield recorded an 11 per cent growth in its total revenue during the second quarter of FY 2019. The figure stood at Rs 2,408 crore for the July-September period which is up by 11 per cent as compared to the same quarter last year. Moreover, it also witnessed growth in EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) which rose by 7 per cent from Rs 683 crore last year to Rs 729 crore this year. The profit after tax of Rs 518 crore during last year’s second quarter also shot up by 6 per cent and reached Rs 549 crore this year.

Royal Enfield launched the Classic 350 Signals in the month of August which incorporates dual-channel ABS. Notably, this is the first model from the bikemaker to get this safety feature. The company is gradually rolling out ABS in all its models owing to the government’s upcoming mandate of inclusion of ABS in all motorcycles with over-125cc motor, which will be applicable from 1 April 2019.

The Chennai-based bikemaker will be launching its hotly-anticipated 650cc motorcycles, the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650, on 14 November in India. Both bikes are already launched in the US and Europe and they are expected to be priced between Rs 3 lakhs and Rs 3.5 lakhs in our country.
