Royal Enfield has announced a 2 per cent growth in sales for August 2018. The manufacturer sold 68,014 motorcycles in India last month as against the 66,872 units in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, exports saw a significant 23 per cent increase with 1,363 units sold overseas. Royal Enfield had exported 1,105 motorcycles in August 2017. The manufacturer accredits most of its domestic growth to the Classic 350 and Bullet 350. On the other hand, models like the Classic 500 and Himalayan are responsible for majority of the sales overseas.
Royal Enfield recently launched the Classic Signals edition based on the Classic 350. It is expected to add three more bikes to its range by the end of this year. These include the Himalayan ABS which is likely to arrive this month and the 650cc twins, the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 which are due for November.
