- Royal Enfield sold a total of 54,185 motorcycles in July 2019
- Registers a weighty drop of 27 per cent in domestic sales compared to the corresponding month last year
- Exports grew substantially by 143 per cent
Royal Enfield has released its sales report for July 2019. The Chennai-based manufacturer has registered a drop of 27 per cent in the domestic market as it managed to sell 49,182 units as opposed to the 67,001 units in the corresponding month last year. In terms of y-o-y figures, the bike maker reported the sale of 2,23,612 units for the financial year of 2019-20 in comparison to 2,86,726 units in 2018-19, registering a decline in sales by 22 per cent.
However, in the international sale department, Royal Enfield has witnessed a massive growth by exporting 5003 units in July 2019 in comparison to 2062 units in July 2018. The company has accomplished a significant growth of 143 per cent which can be chiefly credited to the success of the 650 twins. In terms of y-o-y growth, Royal Enfield managed to sell 14,162 units in 2019-20 as compared to 7698 units in 2018-19, accounting a growth of 84 per cent.
In terms of total figures, the manufacturer managed to sell 54,185 motorcycles in July 2019 in comparison to 69,063 units in July 2018, accounting for a drop of 22 per cent. As far as total y-o-y figures are concerned, the company reported 2,37,774 units for 2019-20 as compared to 2,94,424 units in 2018-19. Total business witnessed a drop of 19 per cent in July 2019.
