- Recalled faulty radiator fan
- Could result in coolant leakage
- 1,351 units affected
Triumph has issued a recall for the Speed Triple 1200 RS and the Speed Triple 1200 RR (only sold overseas). This has been done due to a faulty radiator fan that could affect a total of 1,351 units manufactured between 2022 and 2023.
If the bike will be ridden at high ambient temperatures or in slow-moving traffic, the radiator fan’s maximum operating temperature could spike, causing a motor failure. If the bike is ridden even after the console flashes an overheating sign, the unit could spray/leak hot coolant all over. Triumph will add an additional heat shield on all the affected bikes, free of charge to tackle this.
Dealers will be notified soon and the process will be carried out in a planned manner. Meanwhile, owners can call their nearest dealerships and inquire about the same. As of now, the recall has only been issued in the American market. If the models sold in India are affected too, Triumph will issue a statement and contact the owners. But so far, it hasn’t been detected.
The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS retails in India at Rs 17,95,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It’s offered in two colours: Sapphire Black and Matte Silver Ice.
