Just when we thought Yamaha India is done focusing on scooters for the moment, a new scooter from the Japanese manufacturers portfolio has been spied testing in India. The scooter in question is the Nozza Grande –a premium 125cc scooter that is majorly sold in the Asian market.
While the exact location of the scooter being tested is not known, the company decided to test the Nozza Grande without any camouflage, but did cover the name of the scooter using a duct tape. While the spied test mule carries majority of its design from its Vietnamese counterpart, there are few cost cutting measures that has been done. For example, the spied scooter gets a drum-brake setup, whereas the international model gets a disc brake at the front. The Yamaha Nozza Grande is targeted towards the female consumers and that’s why the overall design cues are not aggressive and has more of a European-design.
The Nozza Grande is powered by a 125cc air-cooled fuel-injected engine. Being a fuel-injected mill, the claimed fuel-efficiency is 54kmpl. The Japanese manufacturer also sells the carburetted version and there is a high chance that the Indian market will get this model and not the fuel-injected version to keep costs in check. Also, being more of a lifestyle product, the Nozza Grande will compete with the Vespa S family in India.
