Nice when compare to another bikes The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 burst onto the scene as a surprise unveiling at the 2023 Motoverse / Rider Mania event in Goa, capturing the attention of motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide. Positioned as a sportier take on the Super Meteor 650, the Shotgun promises an invigorating riding experience while retaining its cruiser DNA. Royal Enfield chose Los Angeles as the destination for us to try out this motorcycle - not only because America loves the quintessential bouquet of cruisers, but also because Los Angeles and the fabled "sunny California" have some of the best riding roads. Is that a bit much for a cruiser derivative? We will delve into that in a bit. That said, I don't like to approach a new vehicle with any preconceived notions - but the utterly stiff suspension of the Super Meteor had me convinced that RE wanted to take our attention away from the firm ride by offering us the Shotgun on the smooth and arguably flawless American highways. So let us begin by addressing that elephant in the room.Ride QualityThe Super Meteor 650, while a formidable cruiser, has faced criticism for its stiff ride quality, a common concern in the cruiser segment given the low suspension travel especially at the rear. Royal Enfield took this feedback seriously when crafting the Shotgun 650. It's evident the moment you see the increased height of the rear fender. This seemingly subtle modification liberates an additional 8-9mm of wheel and suspension travel, addressing the most significant pain points of its donor.Venturing onto the roads of America, a pivotal market for Royal Enfield's 650 range, we experienced firsthand the impact of this alteration. Riding on some of the relatively rough terrains showcase a noticeable improvement in ride comfort. Though not as plush as the Classic, the Shotgun handles undulating surfaces with greater finesse, promising a more forgiving ride even on the pothole-ridden roads typical of every day commutes. It's important to note that the enhanced suspension setup of the Shotgun isn't a plug-and-play solution for existing Super Meteor owners, given the low fender height and the difference in wheel sizes.Different ErgonomicsWhile the Shotgun retains the suspension mounting points, chassis, and engine from the Super Meteor, Royal Enfield has significantly changed the ergonomics changes to infuse that sportier character. Lower handlebars, an 18-inch front wheel, a 17-inch rear wheel, dropped front forks, increased rear suspension, and a nuanced adjustment to the rake angle collectively redefine the riding posture to a more aggressive and forward biased stance. The mid-mounted foot pegs not only pay homage to Royal Enfield's heritage with a classic 90-degree knee angle but also contribute to the different riding style that sets the Shotgun apart from its stablemates. Riding through the winding roads near Mulholland and the Angeles crest, the more aggressive posture translated into an engaging and dynamic riding experience. The Shotgun immediately feels sharper than the Super Meteor 650 but it's crucial to highlight that there remains a perceptible disconnect between the front and rear suspension. The rear feels noticeably softer than the front and on sudden direction changes or switchbacks, the motorcycle seems too flexible. It isn't unnerving though and once you get the hang of it, the Shotgun becomes a hoot to ride.It feels more responsive to rider inputs, offering a sense of connection with the road that enthusiasts crave. You can lean on the front end a lot more and the front end feel and confidence is of a higher degree than any of its 650 siblings - and that says a lot about the handling package of the Shotgun. So much so that I'm now yearning for Royal Enfield to use this magic potion on the Continental GT, which will now feel lethargic in comparison to the Shotgun's quick turn-ins.

I have recently purchased this single-seater bike in the past Dhanteras. To be honest, the bike is majestic. You can literally feel the torque and power. At a kerb weight of 240 kilograms, it gives you the smoothest possible ride. Whether on highways or on city roads, you would never feel strained or have discomfort of any sort.

Owning a shotgun is the best experience of my life. I felt its power, the moment I turned on the engine in the showroom and gave it a little accelerator. The loud exhaust truly resembled thunder. However, after a few months, I got to know about its major drawback which is its mileage: it's 19-20 km/l and that too on highways.

Hi, It's been 3 months since I purchased my first bike from Royal Enfield named Shotgun 650 cc. I am pretty sure that everyone is aware of the Configuration and it's everywhere on websites and the internet. The point of reviewing is to make sure that everyone knows the power of Shotgun which is not at all comparable with any other 650 cc bikes. This huge custom-made Shotgun 650 cc is a handsome hunk with elegance, gentle pick up, style quotient, and amazing vibrant colors, most importantly the main feature of riding is very smooth, delightful and more than the powerful imagination. It is value for money and each and every part of it is designed, manufactured and customised with all the best parts and great services have been offered. Unlike any other Royal Enfield motorcycle, this is a unique concept of custom-made bike with unique and best handling power quality. The engine is way too powerful. The material used is excellent. Overall, the bike is a seriously unique blend of a traveler's choice and the feeling which we get when we ride it is something that is felt within, can't be expressed. Shotgun would be a bike that has emotions, it will give you goosebumps while riding it and the moments will be worth remembering. Truly the best riding bike with a bobber style, probably the first Royal Enfield bobber rugged style. Highly recommended. Enjoy the pictures!

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 The designers have made the 42 bobbers and Perak look really dashing. The 650cc twin is a beautiful engine. To be honest, the Shotgun 650 is probably the most fun twin and best twin in my opinion. You cannot complain about riding posture; It is a cafe racer. A Super Meteor with midset footpegs would be the perfect bike for me.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - The sensible Super Bike Just Looking like wow with ShotGun

Please do not ride the motorcycle with the low fuel indication blinking continuously as it may not only result in the motorcycle running out of fuel but will also cause serious damage to the fuel pump. Please refuel as soon as the low fuel indication starts blinking. Maintaining a Royal Enfield in India requires regular care and attention to ensure its longevity and performance. Here are some tips and tricks: Regular servicing: Follow the manufacturer's recommended service schedule and get your Royal Enfield serviced at authorized service centers or by experienced mechanics. Oil and filter changes: Regularly change the engine oil and oil filter as per the manufacturer's recommendations to keep the engine running smoothly. Cleanliness: Keep your Royal Enfield clean, especially in dusty or rainy conditions, to prevent corrosion and maintain its appearance. Tire maintenance: Check tire pressure regularly and inspect the tires for wear and tear. Replace tires when necessary to ensure safety. Chain maintenance: Keep the chain well-lubricated and at the correct tension to prevent premature wear and ensure smooth operation. Electrical system: Check the battery, lights, and electrical connections regularly to avoid any issues while riding. Riding conditions: Be mindful of the road and weather conditions while riding to prevent unnecessary wear and tear on the bike. Genuine parts: Use genuine spare parts and accessories to maintain the quality and performance of your Royal Enfield. By following these tips and tricks, you can ensure that your Royal Enfield remains in good condition and provides a reliable riding experience in India.

My Bike: My POV
Punam Kumari

I bought this bike and I am still thrilled! It’s unbeatable in power and performance, delivering a smooth and comfortable ride every time. The handling is impressive, making every trip enjoyable. While the design could use a few tweaks, finding any other drawbacks is hard. Overall, it's a powerful, reliable choice for anyone looking for a great riding experience!

Enjoy the pictures!

the buying experience is quite smooth as all Royal Enfield staff are helpful. riding experience is like any other cruiser, I liked it because it looked like a mix of Hunter 350 and Super Meteor it's a royal Enfield the service is easy to maintain. the bike has a lack of road presence which you realize after owning it or riding it around the rides are quite comfortable the modifications look a little off with this bike.
