This bike has it all! I bought the Scrambler 400x not too long ago in Hyderabad and have put a decent number of kilometers on it already. It can cruise at 100 with no problem, and the transmission feels like butter. The potholes feel like they are not even there. It is perfect if you commute daily through a mix of highways and rough patches of roads like I do. I did think the handling would be bad at first, but when I rode it for the first time, it felt really easy to control, even for a beginner like me. I would say that it can be scary to drive if you have no experience and are on the shorter side. I mean, I am 6'1 (and a noob), and I got scared the first time, but you get used to the size and weight pretty quickly. It is quite peppy, and the brakes may feel spongy to a few who have only ridden sporty bikes, but they are perfect for the kind of use this bike is built for. I bought this bike at the Kukkatpally Triumph showroom, and I would recommend you buy it from there if you are in Hyderabad because of its fast and easy delivery. The only con I have noticed so far is that it heats up very quickly in city traffic, but that could just be because of my lack of experience riding a motorcycle. It is a beautiful, quick, and easy-to-handle bike that can be driven almost anywhere.

I took a test ride of the Scrambler 400X today and here's me comparing it to my NS400Z. First of all the engine now you might think both are the derivatives of the same engine and there will not be a whole lot of difference that's exactly how I was thinking before I rode the 400X. it is on another level the NS is no match to what the engine of the 400X does it pulls so effortlessly and just puts a big smile on your face. The engine is super refined and the cherry on top is the exhaust note of the 400X. when you are pushing the bike at high rpms it just roars and the feeling is something that you have to experience yourself to understand. Next up are the brakes. now we all know that Pulsars have tended to have a little bit of brake fade even when it's new right out of the showroom and I am sorry to report that the NS400 is no exception to that...but the brakes on the Scrambler is nice and the front has a good bite to it which makes confident when pushing the bike at higher speeds and the abs works well for city conditions. The suspension is a bit stiff on both the motorcycles but the Scrambler having a longer travel and a bigger wheel feels a little bit more comfortable than the NS400 also the seat on the Scrambler is of much higher quality than what you get on the NS. Now to the looks what I feel is the NS is a bit repetitive in its design with bits looking like you have seen them on the NS200 as well but the Scrambler 400X is fresh in its look and feel and appeals much higher than anything on the market right now with added pride from the "TRIUMPH" badge on the bike. The only thing that I found difficult was to manage the 835mm seat height....with me being 5'8 I was only able to tip-toe it while it was manageable but I would want to get at least the front of my foot down to call a bike comfortable which I can do on the NS rest of it is good and appeals so much that you just want to get one. What I feel is that for ₹3.10 lakhs you can't get anything better for your money. The only two bikes that come close are the Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 ADV but both the bikes are considerably more expensive to buy and also to own. At the end of the day, it is you who'll make the buying decision and I hope this experience of mine helps you in choosing the right motorcycle for you.

Triumph Scrambler has a thing, a magical thing. It attracts you, it draws your attention. It has a lot of pros with only a few cons.PROS:- This bike has a character.- Best fit & finish and detailing- amazing power and a nice torquey bike.- feels great while riding because of the seat height i.e., 835 mm.- Suspensions are too good- the design and the triumph badging almost on every part of the motorcycle.Overall, it's a lovely performance multipurpose motorcycle which is made for the bike maniacs and lovers.CONS:The fuel tank could be of 14 litres. The headlight throw could have been better- The service network should improve in the coming timeI went for it after a long research in the segment and I would suggest you go for it as well. I really like this engine. it's actually pretty usable even for a beginner. Triumph has added a bit of rubber below the pegs to smooth things in case of any refinement issues. The Handlebar though feels slightly Buzzy at 80 km per hour but it won't spoil your riding experience cruising between 100 and 120 kmph should not be a problem if you are of the touring kind. It is a tall motorcycle so most of the guys will find themselves tiptoeing in City to City traffic but once the roads open up there is a sense of comfort almost immediately. The wide handlebar, position of the pegs & the overall Riders triangle are really comfortable. A long wheelbase might mean stability but it usually compromises with handling. Personally, handling was probably the strongest attribute of this motorcycle so easy to steer and so much fun around fast Corners. A good set of tires will make this even better I feel but the way the motorcycle responds to your inputs and never feels out of line is actually incredible even with the bigger tire at the front. If you're looking at City usage but if your commute involves some kind of Highway run, if your commute involves going through a bad patch of Road, and if you really don't like slowing down at those places I feel the Scrambler 400x at rupees 2.63 lakh X showroom is fantastic value for money.

I don't think I've to repeat the exact same thing that the online reviewers said good about this bike, I stand with their opinion. What I have to share is the things I didn't expect from this bike. The first thing is the headlight, the visibility is poor and if it rains it gets worse, especially on roads with portholes, you can't see something that is 5 or more meters away and the ride confidence in night is very low. The second thing is the muck that gets thrown into the pillion seat, I was riding in the night for more than 100 kms in the rain and after the journey, I saw the muck splashed over my pillion seat, maybe it was also splashed into my plastic raincoat. It is not a bike for the monsoon. The third thing is the most hurtful thing, the build quality. The bike is premium, there is no question about it, but once during a daily ride I lost my balance on a slippery road (any bike would have slipped the road was under repair and was raining) and was reclining to the left. I was able to hold it almost 80% and then I had no choice. The impact of 20% got a bend on my handlebar, it is not expected for a bike of this price range and which is meant for scrambling.

The Triumph Scrambler 400 X successfully marries classic design with contemporary performance, offering riders a motorcycle that excels both on and off the road. It's a versatile machine that appeals to those seeking adventure, style, and a connection to motorcycling heritage. With its engaging ride, thoughtful design, and a nod to the past, the Scrambler 400 X stands out as a worthy addition to Triumph's storied lineup.Triumph has struck a good balance between the Scrambler's off-road capability and on-road comfort. The upright riding position is comfortable for both short city rides and longer journeys. The wide handlebars provide excellent control, and the well-padded seat offers enough support for extended periods in the saddle. Hello Everyone... After all market surveys, Funding arrangements and home minister approval... I finally managed to grab Triumph Scrambler 400X recently in may 2024 month. My Buying Experience : The Shaman motors in Thane for Triumph is good, though not upgraded yet with other products and accessories of Triumph. Usually, people go to the showroom and choose their motorcycle, but this particular machine chooses the rider. If you are lucky enough, you get the tickets because after that, it's all a joyride for you. Enough storylines, let's come back to the topic. Scrambler. Oh, man!!! What a machine to love This motorcycle is everything you expect from a motorcycle at least in my case so.Appearance - 9/10 Just a little glimpse and you are attracted by her looks, finishing and craftsmanship. The detailing, the beautiful paint (particularly Matte Khaki), the design elements, even the nut and bolts everything looks neat and clean and adds a beauty element on this motorcycle.Riding Stance - 9/10I rode 375km in a single stretch on a hilly terrain without breaking a sweat. Do I have to say more? Keep in mind, that the pillion add little discomfort and you probably won't do 50-60 km in a single go. The pillion seat is a little stiff and so does the riders. But I did extra double memory foam so for me, the seat is just like a couch.Maintenance - 9.5/10Being a triumph (well at least on paper) i thought the servicing would be on a higher side but I was wrong. Maintenance of this motorcycle is minimal and the service interval is 1600 or 1 year which is mind-boggling. Spare parts are cheaper too. Well done Triumph India.Pricing - 9.5/10A few years back, BMW came with G310R and GS310. They thought they would take the Indian consumer by their side but they messed up totally on pricing and maintenance cost. Triumph took note and kept the price and maintenance cost as low as possible and people loved it. They are entering into Triumph and further they will upgrade into Triumph's bigger bikes. That's the plan of Triumph and they executed well.Competition However, I don't think it has a direct competition because Scramblers are of different leagues. Do you love mountains? Scrambler is for you. Do you love Rough terrain? Scrambler is for you. Do you love touring? Scrambler is for you. You love city rides? Scrambler is for you, my friend. It's an all-rounder class of motorcycles. But people love to compare it with Himalayan. Himalayan is an Offroad breed. Its only strength is in Offroad terrain. You don't want to ride Himmy on a city ride. Right? But scrambler, you can take it anywhere and the Triumph logo adds an extra smile on your face. Some say Yezdi Scrambler is also a competition and I laughed at them badly. Do you really think Yezdi is a competition to Scrambler 400x? Man, Yezdi barely surviving in India. Don't make this mistake.VerdictConsidering the brand's legacy, pricing, maintenance cost, it's all-rounder ability and also for a better resale perspective, you can choose Scrambler 400x blindly. I did it and I have zero regrets.

It is a beautiful, quick, and easy-to-handle bike that can be driven almost anywhere.

You might want to get PPF done to prevent scratches and change tires to Michelin Road Series if you want to get more performance out of it.

The "No Nonsense" motorcycle.

Triumph - the magical motorcycle

Take the test ride, you will love it.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X

A Modern Classic: Triumph Scrambler 400 X Review
1 year ago
Shresht Nair
However, riders with taller frames may find the seat a bit cramped during extended rides.

Tips for other riders
To ensure your Triumph 400X stays in peak condition, prioritize regular maintenance. One essential tip is to routinely inspect and lubricate the chain. A clean, well-lubricated chain not only enhances performance but also extends its lifespan. Begin by cleaning the chain with a specialized cleaner to remove dirt and grime. Once dry, apply a quality chain lubricant evenly across its length. Remember to adjust the chain tension according to the manufacturer's specifications to prevent excessive wear and tear. This simple yet crucial maintenance practice will keep your Triumph 400X running smoothly for miles to come.

My buying experience was good and got delivery within 5 days post booking. My Riding experience : Man this machine is crazy, I fell in love with this bike like Shahrukh crazy behind Juhi in the Darr movie. Fits n finish, British brand, Engine roar n stance with pickup. Target the location and shoot... And this machine will take you there without any hesitation. Looks and performance - 100% head turner due to looks and because of this you too need to groom well as 2nd turn is for you as who is riding this beautiful machine. The performance I got is 26 kmpl in the city, not taken ahead yet on the highway. Pros : All above are prosCons : Slight heating issue - feels while riding on shorts. If you are looking to buy 400cc bike, then would recommend to go for Triumph Scrambler 400X.
