I bought tvs apache 160 front abs - bs-iv, june lat year. I rode it for approx. 12500+ km. I never faced any problem. It's comfortable. It's easy near the corners. Millage is too good. I took it for a long run of 700+ km non-stop. From kolkata to varanasi. Though i regularly change the engine oil, take it for servicing as well. When i was 16 i dreamnt of this bike. And after 13 years i bought the same bike. Apache is not just a ride for me. It's an emotion. And when you see your baby is doing better then you dreamnt, there is nothing amazing than that.

It's almost like TVS doesn't rest when it comes to rolling out little updates for its motorcycles, the Apache line-up, in particular. In late 2019, the manufacturer introduced the facelifted iterations of the popular Apache RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 4V. A few months ago, the latter got another, rather substantial, improvement in the form of adjustable suspension, better brakes and riding modes. Now, it's the smaller 160's turn, and while its list isn't as comprehensive, it definitely is significant.

  • Loving my dream bike

    Karthik Nidamarthi

This is my dream bike and finally owned. I'm simply loving the riding experience and am greatly impressed with the gtt technology.
Looks-wise pretty good love the bold attitude look.
Done with 1st service after that performance is more polished
    Pros- looks, technology, braking performance
Cons- can add a little bit more towards the features like usb, and gear shift indicator.

  • Overall good bike.

    Udit Kumar Dhar

It was a very good experience with the dealer of TVS bikes Kishore TVS in Sambalpur city. Salesmen are also well-behaved and have a good knowledge of bikes. The bike has very low maintenance. The cons are that speed after 60 km, the bike gets throttled. One of the problems that the earlier generation Apaches and to an extent the RTR is the engine roughness. The performance was never a problem. With the addition of Fuel Injection that problem seems to have gone out of the window. The power delivery is very smooth and the throttle response is very crisp. The gearbox too is precise with positive shifts every time you tap the lever. The first gear is a bit weak and you don’t feel the true potential of the 150.7cc mill. Shifting while in the power band, I began to feel at home and was excited enough not to resist the urge to go faster and faster. That said if you shift the gear in lower r.p.m then you feel a tremendous loss in power and it takes quite a while to hit the power band again. So correct shifting is the key if you are riding the bike in day-to-day traffic. Personally, I don’t have any complaints about the character of the bike.

  • Vibrating machine

    Abhi

Today i test drove the apache rtr 160.Front look is very aggressive and rear is good.Graphic designs are managed very well.Talking about performance,i don't felt the pickup on which it is advertising as the best but was good.Gears and clutch are not soft at all. Rear tyre is small in segment it should be of 130/140.Rear seat position is high i don't liked it personally. It should have split seat arrangement.Braking is good but rear drum brake is not good (go for rear disc version ). The most irritating or negative part about this bike is the vibrations. All body gets highly vibrated at low as well as high rpm.But at high rpm is was worst. The footrest position is designed as a sport bike (slightly at rear than other commuter bikes) but in city traffic,i felt difficult or paining in thighs or to shift gears and applying brakes.

  • Only comfort riding for two year.

    Ajay Yadav

I am using apache rtr 160 ( both side brake disc ) last 4 year. My two year experience is very good with tvs apache. And after two year , this bike performance is not good, look wise and pickup wise bike is good. Bike riding is comfort to other. But bike mileage is not good, and after two year while driving bike is creating more sound. And after three year bike start is more concern, 1 engine oil consumption, 2 wiring connector is hard & corrosion & ( rust) & and after run 30000 km all shocker is weak & leakage. Tvs apache experience is very bad.

I have been the owner of RTR 160 2v for 1 year. I will say my experience is very good and my First impression was very Good. I will discuss the pros and cons directly.
    Pros:
    1. Looks, Comfort, and Posture are great.
    2. Pillionseat is also comfortable and Every pillion of mine is satisfied.
    3. Initial acceleration is impressive and beyond expectations. Seriously it will feel like a high-end sports bike in the initial. 0-60kmph in almost 5 seconds.Top speed: 125kmph(mine), but it will go more like 130+.
    4. The exhaust sound is very soothing and sweet, feels like a very good exhaust.
    5. Smooth engine and gear shifts make the ride very addictive.
    6. It has 3 modes urban, rain and sport. Every mode is perfect for their situation.
    7. Suspension also works well.
    Cons:
    1. Mileage is not as good as the company says. I ride in sports mode almost all the time and give about 33-35kmpl. And it gives around 38kmpl in urban and rain. But it will not affect you cause the feel of the bike is very soothing.
    2. This bike needs good control, cause the acceleration is not easy to handle at first.
    Conclusion:
If you are a college student or in your 20s and you want to get a sporty commuter bike and good acceleration and speed you will definitely love this. You will love this as I do seriously.

    Rahul Chowdhury
