Must buy.....Great looks.....Great initial. Comfortable for long rides. Service charges are also not so high.
Never seen any other 160-cc bike like this.
Its initial is so powerful. No other bikes can make apache rtr 160 lose.
Even. It can compete with 200 cc bikes. Because of its great performance.

  • A little beast in a pocket friendly package.

    Aritra Misra

When buying the first bikes of life everybody gets confused. Wasn't an exception for me. I shortlisted bajaj pulsar as 150, yamaha fz 2.0 and this apache after a long research. Then i took test drives for each bike in the dealerships. However, i settled for this apache. Let me get this straight, the apache rtr 160 is a beast of a machine. If you want raw acceleration out of the box, this one was the first choice in that time (january 2015). As it runs shorter gear ratios along with a rev happy engine, compared to other bikes in this segment, a little twist of throttle is enough to overtake other vehicles with ease. Low end and mid range pull is superb. Due to shorter gear ratios, it sacrifices some of its top end grunt. The torque figures are also very good. With great power comes great petrol bill, but in this case it doesn't dig a hole in our pocket. The average mileage of this bike is 40kmpl with moderate use. In highway rides you can expect anything near 42-43 kmpl. And if you ride like hooligan stunt rider, it will return around 36-38kmpl.The maintenance cost is moderate too. After 5 free services, it costs around 300-400 rs per service (it can vary from place to place)I personally modified the electricals converting this to a full dc setup to run hid lights as the light output from the stock headlight is a little bit on the lower side. One small recommendation from me is to use some branded engine oil rather than using the tvs engine oils. I use motul 7100 10w40 from the second servicing and it works great. But honestly, this particular bike needed some refinements as there are vibrations kicking in after 7k rpms. The new bikes like 2nd gen pulsar ns160 pulls harder than this while the honda hornet and yamaha fz are smoother than this. Tvs fixed all this issues by launching the 4v version of this, but unfortunately it lost some of its raw characters with the upgrade. It was a great beginner bike in that time and still now the 4v does the same. I'm very happy that i choose this one. .

It has been more than 3 years since I purchased this bike in August 2020. At 40-50 kmph speed riding experience is okay but beyond that, the engine noise creeps in which is an irritating and unpleasant experience at the cost of 1.30 lakhs. Overall it is a good bike for 50 kmph speed only with the least riding comfort.

  • The bike is good but i am not satisfied with it

    Mukesh Gupta

I have purchased it on 26-sep-2014. The bike is really good but there are some features missing from it like auto side light off, side stand light. The mileage of bike is enough it is giving me 41 kmpl now but in starting it was giving 50. Service center in my area is really poor (kankria, ahmedabad). Speed of bike is good you will love it when it is on the top. I think front wheel of my bike is not proper because when i start riding it i can clearly feel the wheel is tortuous. The bike is not much comfortable as comparing to pulsar 150. It lightweight than pulsar 150. Because of its lightweight you will love to ride it but when truck, car or bus will pass near by you the bike will unstable. The spedometer is too much hard it is very disapointing i cant set anything in it. The company should take care of customers i am not satisfied with the bike.

This bike is completely made for speed and performance but still i am not happy with it i will suggest you to go with pulsar 150 instead of apache 160 rtr.

Compact good looking bike , but the fibre used around speedo console & side panel gives the feel of a bit cheaper quality. Pick up is awesome, a boon to drive in city traffic , how ever it starts to vibrate a lot around a speed range of 45-65 kmph , after that >65kmph feels comparatively smoother(though still vibration exists).. Due to shorter wheel base manoeuvrability in city is awesome but feels bit unstable at speeds around 100kmph.. Mileage is around 45kmpl in city & around 52-55kmpl in highways @ speeds.

  • Fabulous! bike

    Pranav Shukla

Apache rtr the name itself has a craze among Indian consumers there is a great picture of this bike that is sketchy in our mind here in this review I am gonna tell my 1 year of happiness but still a few cons of experience with this bike. So firstly let me tell you the pros of this bike, in this bike, there is a great stylish and well-polished body with a fine engine and great looks with a very nice driving experience. So what's the problem see my height is around 5 feet 8 inches, I think that every Indian is this kind of height so you can't feel much pain in the back but for tall drivers, it may feel very painful because of my friend he is of 6 feet and 2 inches he is feeling some difficulties after a ride. Rather than that, I haven't found any cons till now. Yes after service each and every problem-related engine or anything else got fixed. I have done 4 services yet and those all are just mind-blowing. So if you are a good rider and if this is your 2nd bike then go for it. But if you want to buy this bike as a primary so in my opinion don't go for it. But if you want to buy it as your primary bike so you should have riding skills and also a good muscular body because it's a little bit heavy also and most important take a test ride. The rest of each and every segment like brakes, lights, buttons, lever quality, engine, seat comfort, suspension, and material durability is just fabulous and fantastic.

  • Fabulous! bike
