  • Cool bike tho ride apache rtr 160 4v

    Kunal Raut

Well that was a great experience to ride apache 160 4v. I was fan of apache brand but when it comes to engine refinement, it was bad but new apache rtr 160 4v is the bike which i always wanted to ride. This bike got everything which i wanted. Everything's are fixed. It is the new apache rtr which got engine refinement great looks better shock absorber and cool exhaust, all digital instrument cluster and last but not the least better riding experience. Bike rides smoothly without any hassle thanks to new 4v engine. It turns like a knife in the butter, smoothly. Great pickup and better torque proper seating position. When it comes to mileage company says 60 but it gives around 50 kmpl. Depends on your riding. Well that was my reviews for any other details. Stay there Tune.

  • Most Sporty In it's Segment!

    Pranav Anand

I'm a college student and I had been asking my parents for a bike for many months and then somehow finalised this and got it in the month of November. Here are my views on it after using it for 1 month:-
This is a race derived version of the TVS Apache RTR 165 which is used for National Championships. The design is striking, stunning from all angles and is one of the most aggressive looking bikes in its segment. It has a flat handle bar which is comfortable to hold on. The quality of plastics on the switch gear are of good quality and durable. The single piece seat on this bike is soft and comfortable for the rider and pillion as compared to its elder brother Apache 200. The seating position is slightly sporty but comfortable enough for daily commutes. Shorter riders (Below 5'5) would find it difficult to place their foot completely on the ground due to the relatively higher seat height (800mm).
Regarding the performance aspect of the vehicle it is powered by a single cylinder 159.7 cc air cooled engine with an oil cooler which is good enough for 16.4 PS of power @ 8000 rpm and 14.8 Nm of Torque @ 6500 rpm. It redlines at 11500 rpm. The bike is tuned for good mid-range and top end performance. The low end is not punchy but it's adequate for overtaking in the city. The engine is very refined and there are no vibrations until after 7000 rpm where you experience vibrations mainly at the foot pegs and the tank but it's not bad enough to get you unsettled. The heat management is very good and directs the hot air underneath the rider. The gearbox is a 5 speed constant mesh unit and provides for a very slick and smooth operation. The bike consists of telescopic front forks and a gas charged monoshock at the rear (6 step preload adjustable). You also get a 270 mm disc at the front and a 230 mm disc on the rear. It is worn on a 110 section tire at the front and a 130 section tire on the rear.
Ride quality is very smooth and well damped. The suspension setup is a perfect balance between sporty riding and commuting. High speed stability is good but it gets a little unsettled when encountered by heavy crosswinds. Handling wise, it's very easy to manoeuvre through the city traffic. Can't say about cornering because I still haven't gotten a chance to test it out. Will update my review after the experience.
Regarding braking, The initial bite and progression was slow and had to give in more pedal input to slow down the bike sufficiently.
First service was between 500-750 kms and overall experience was satisfactory. Spare parts are not very expensive and requires low maintenance due to reliability of the vehicle.
To summarise my review here are my pros and cons:-
    Pros:
    1. Good Performance
    2. Ride Quality and Handling
    3. Fuel Efficient (40-45 kmpl in city)
    4. Low Maintenance
    5. Design and overall fit and finish
    Cons:
    1. Brakes are not very effective
    2. Lack of ABS
    3. Flat sounding exhaust
I apologise for writing such a long review but I hope this information is helpful to others while taking a decision to buy the bike.

It is the best bike in 160 cc segment. The best thing i liked in it is its refinment.Build quality is decent. The headlight is poor in low beam.It can be used for long rides too,the seat is very comfortable.I found some smaller heating issues and finally the worst thing related to this bike is its service centre.None of the service centres in my city do decent job.Even local mechanics do better job than them.

    Sagar Kar

The bike looks good especially from back side and its headlight looks like human eyebrow. Front has abs but it is missing at back, though it is not an issue for this rtr 160 4v. Personally my feelings are great for this hulk. One will fill comfort in riding at city as well as long touring. Grab it and feel the power.

    1. I usually get around 45km/L average
    2. best engine in 150cc segment you can ride in 4th gear at 30 km/h thanks to the torque
    3. suspension setup is perfect for Indian roads the bumps or potholes doesn't cause any inconvenience to the rider
    4. it can cruise at 90km/h on highway hassle free
5.clutch is on lighter side and it does help you in traffic
    6. build quality is good
    Cons
    1. brakes are below average and don't offer a good feedback
    2. I have discussed this with this many 160 4v owners all have a complaint about the rear disc brake which makes an annoying noise while braking
    3. rear disc brake doesn't offer any bite and you have to mostly rely on front brake
    4. chain gets loose every 100 km and has to be lubed every week
