I am from nepal. The bike has not yet launched here but i am very much eager about the bike to come. Its really an awesome bike. People nowadays wants more power and the 160 category beast has done to its fullest. The race inspired engine is so smooth to ride. I previously rode the test version of bike that was been to kathmandu for testing. The ride quality was superb with ease. Its probably gonna be the best selling bike in the category. Thanks tvs for such innovative design you are making according to the need. I am surely going to purchase soon as it launches in nepal. Thank you.

  • Best performance bike in its segment

    Pranay

Bike is really good, Showroom staff are nice but TVs service center people are not good. I had one small issue and they didn't do anything after showing them for the 6th time. Bike performance is good in both commute and long drive, so smooth, no vibrations, mileage is better now after 2nd service. It gives around 40-45. In long drive it gave me 50 km/l in the speed of 70. If you want to know anything about the bike. Feel free to comment I will respond to you guys.
Riding experience is excellent with powerful pickup and good mileage.
    Servicing is economical.
Pro. Best performance in its segment.
    Cons. Availability of spare parts

  • An all-rounder motorcycle

    Nishant Singh

    1. Buying experience: the buying experience was okay but the staffs weren't professional and they didn't knew even about basic specifications of this motorcycle. We purchased it on 10th march, 2021, when it was announced that hp version of this was launched and the staffs themselves were not aware about the same and we were assuming that it was previous version. When rc of this motorcycle was released by the rto in which it was mentioned that its power is 17.38 bhp then we were able to be sure that it was hp version.
    2. Riding experience: this motorcycle is an all-rounder motorcycle by which you can commute, go for long tours, some off-road duties because it comes with showa suspensions which are quite smooth for indian conditions and you won't be hesitant to jump upon the speed breakers while being at good speeds and also comes with good amount of ground clearance. Overall, it's smooth machine with smoothest gear shifts with some vibrations at higher revs which is still not a problem as it won't bother you in any way.
    3. Details about looks, performance, etc: looks are subjective but as per my view it looks bit muscular as we've knight black colour and its pillion grab rail gives 'batman' look which enhances its looks. Its headlight and taillight both are eye catchy especially at night and while doing night rides you don't need to worry about some blind spots as its throw is one of the best in the market be it straight, left and right you can have a complete vision from all such sides even when you're using low beam. Talking about performance, its acceleration is great in the segment and I've achieved the top speed of 139 km/h and goes till 11k rpm out of total of 12k rpm. Talking about cruising speeds, you can effortlessly cruise it at the speeds of 100-105 kmph and in that range it gives 38-40 km/l and when you're riding at the speeds of between 70-80 km/h you can easily get 49-50 km/l by which we can assume that it will give 50-55 km/l while riding economically. When i decided to go for a ride from Lucknow to pratapgarh and back then i got its fuel tank full before going for a ride and, to my surprise, my journey gone free of cost as i completed my total ride of 392 kilometers with that full tank only and when i gone to refuel it then it came upto 8 litres and by dividing i got 49 km/l and the riding range was between 70-85 kmph. I did Lucknow-delhi-Lucknow too and the seating comfort was also great as i did 525 kilometers in a go without much stress. Talking about vibrations, you will feel them only at higher revs upon foot pegs and below your seat but it won't hamper your riding experience in any way like re classic 350 (lol) which can be ridden effortlessly only upto 80 kmph only (we owned classic 350 which got resold in exchange of this motorcycle at good resale value of 1,05,000 after 4 years of its use as i maintained it well). Braking is not upto the mark because of not having enough bite and it doesn't come with radial tyres due to which i don't get enough confidence every time. For city purpose, it's quite nimble and light to go through city traffics but i'm 5'11 and my hands get pain while being for a long time but if one is upto 5'9 then it won't be a problem for him/her.
    4. Servicing and maintenance: the service was also not bad as i made up good relations with the service staffs and manager is a great person who himself assisted me in everything till date. But, make sure you read your service manual completely and they can unnecessarily change engine oil if you're not aware about when it has to be changed as it has alternative engine oil change interval (6,000 kilometers or 6 months whichever is earlier) i.e., odd and alternative services like first, third, fifth, etc, and second, fourth, etc, requires only top-up (and when ridden upto 3,000 kilometers only or 3 months whichever is earlier). When service personnel unnecessarily insisted me to get its engine oil changed then i called tvs motor company by its toll free number and the company was continuously in touch with me to help me out and, to my surprise, the service centre got to learn such lesson in no time and i'm still thankful to tvs for it's assistance and till now my service experience is going flawless.
    5. Pros and cons:
    Pros: (a). Great mileage.
    (b). Smooth suspensions.
(c). One of the best for indian conditions with good amount of ground clearance.
    (d). Lesser vibrations.
    (e). Smooth gearbox.
    (f). Comfortable single piece seat.
    (g). Good for family purpose.
    (h). Low maintenance costs.
    Cons: (a). Braking.
(b). Lacks good fit and finish.
    (c). No radial tyres.
    (d). Single channel abs.
Coming to the conclusion, this motorcycle excels in almost every aspect with some cons which are prevalent in every vehicle.

    Tips for other riders

Service of every vehicle should be done from time to time and engine oil must be changed at every 6,000 kilometers or 6 months whichever is earlier and top-up at every 3,000 kilometers or 3 months whichever is earlier. Chain lube should be done every 500 kilometers or within a month whichever is earlier and wash it once or twice a month in order to keep it in its perfect state

I using this bike last 4 months in daily commute, my up down is 80KM per day, and I can say it just a amazing machine with value for money. TVS offered each and every features with amazing throttle response at this price, I have BS4 ABS version. In terms of mileage I can say it OK because its a 16.1 BHP bike with 160 cc engine, I getting 40 to 42 mileage at this time, ofcourse I drive harsh, normally economy rider can get 45 or more. Build quality decent I can say. But power and looks just amazing, its a monster. Riding experience and sit comfort nice well crushing.

    Tips for other riders

Use Motul 10w40 fully synthetic oil for butter smooth performance. Though recommended oil grade from TVS 10w30 fully synthetic. Change oil time to time at least. Every bike has SOPs and good performance, if we maintain time to time then it ll give same performance till RC expire.

  • love this bike. A real beast in the 160cc segment

    Pritish Samal

This is the best 160 bike available in the market as compared to other 160 cc segment. Tvs has brought new looks and variants to this new 160 model. The engine is superb having 4 valve and having a great power of 16.1 hp and having wonderful ground clearance. This bike is a race machine and is affordable as compared to its competitors. Riding experience is good but the double disc variant is better choice than single disc. This rtr gives a new look as compared to previous 160 model. My bike showing an average mileage around 50 after 3 servicing. I am in love with this beast and i would recommend people who r looking for 160cc segment bike. This apache rtr 160 4v is an all rounder beast.

    Nitesh Kaushik

I love its design and most imp thing is i feel more comfortable in sitting position....Power delivery is very much refined as compare to older versions 160 throttle response is faster and rear suspension are feel softer in corners ..... But cons are also there abs version is needed in this segment.. Overall the bike performance is awesome ... Go tvs.
