TVS Ronin Review

  • Good Things

    • Styling is quite aspirational
    • Gets cool looking instrument cluster
    • Tractable engine
  • Could be Better

    • Certain variants misses out on dual-channel ABS
    • Only top model gets Bluetooth

BikeWale's Take

The Ronin is a new modern retro motorcycle from TVS. This motorcycle is a bit inspired from the Zeppelin cruiser concept but has been altered to make it more relevant to the current taste. The combination of retro styling, modern tech and 225c engine makes it quite enticing. However, this motorcycle won’t be liked by riders who love to ride fast and aggressive.

The design is Classy and strong, and the Performance power is awesome, Compared to the Royal Enfield Hunter this one is better in all terms, road pickup is good almost like an Apache, the engine won't get much heat, and it's value for the money and design I like this bike and I like to own it and it's not too expensive it's affordable.

Very quick throttle response. Design wise it's awesome. Performance is satisfactory. Seat length can be slightly increased. The mudguard/flaps working is poor. The chain is noisy and becomes loose very frequently. Chain guard looks very good but it's less practical as chain cleaning is a little bit difficult.

On the first day when I received the bike, as a first-time bike owner, I found the bike quite heavy since the only two-wheeler I had ridden before was an Activa. However, on the ride back home, I got used to the weight, and it took me only a couple of weeks to be completely comfortable with the weight of the Ronin (it weighs only 160 kg, which is quite low for a bike of such stature). The gear shifting was unbelievably smooth.

TVS Ronin checked all the boxes for me. Not too heavy to zip through traffic, easy to maneuver, silky smooth clutch, power disc break with dual-clutch abs; excellent ride quality, easy and confident cornering even at 40-60 kmph. Stable braking.
TVS Ronin exceeds expectations Impressive 225cc engine, smooth transmission, and agile handling. Retro-style design, comfortable seating, and feature-rich instrument cluster. A perfect blend of power, style, and practicality

      Arunkumar

A wonderful bike at a wonderful price. My ride is like I am flying with wings. Good Comfortable ride. Good Mileage bike.
The brand shows pride in design. Rise of the Ronin is excellent when it dares to be itself and lean into its challenging, rewarding fighting; too often. Riding is good in City and Highway but rear braking tends to lag at 80 plus speed. Weight balance is very well maintained. No problem with mountain Roads and hairpin bends.

Actually, the bike contains too many problems, In the first 6000 km. I faced 3 fuse brakes on the side stand sensor. The service is one of the major disadvantages because every time they change the fuse but service team is not qualified to identify why the fuse is always braking for this new vehicle.
The vehicle vibrates at above 70 kmph speed and the seat just acts like wood, not soft not wide. if we ride on a dirt road the mud from the front wheel goes beside the head of the engine and going to rust in a few days. Unable to lube and clean the chain properly because of the full chain cover. Bad painting Quality. paint will go after 2 months in some parts of the vehicle and get rust in those parts. Mud and dirt from the back tire directly come to the pillion seat.

Worst bike ever TVS Motors launched TVS RONIN without a quality checkup and sold so many pieces in the market to suffer customers and wasting their money if the problem with my bike is probable then why so many people are complaining on social media about your scrap vehicle of Rs, 2 lakh which is creating problem in early stage. Somewhere ROT registration No. not come but the problem accrued first same is with me, somewhere bike gear stuck while driving
      Please don't buy this bike
I had gone to your service center for the first servicing of the bike The problem with my bike was that before giving the bike for servicing, changing gear between first and second gear had to shift forcefully. I was told that at the time of job card creation.
In the evening after servicing while taking the delivery, the bike was stuck in the first gear at the service center, after all checks were done by the service engineer and ok for delivery.
The next day they opened my bike engine without my permission and said we needed 10 more days for the repair process as one of the parts of the gear had to be replaced, on asked my side why there was a need for the change gear part of the new bike? In its first service only at 1100 KM, floor manager said 1-2 out of 100 bikes have company defects which we repair in warranty without any cost.

The worst bike I have seen ever. Engine damaged within 2 years. Service repairing is badly hampered due to the non-availability of parts. I have been waiting for 2 months. The service staff and owner are rude. They do not cooperate easily.
Tvs Please discontinue this bike and assemble it like apache with higher power.

After one or two months of use, the gear shifting indicator stopped working, and the service is pathetic. Parts are not available. The bike is smoother in the class, with good road presence. The exhaust note is very sweet in the segment. Pick-up is good. At this price point, it does deliver a good amount of pros to pick this bike.
